Don Medina began his music career at the early age of 15 as a DJ in the Chicago area. After about a year of DJing, Don was asked to come down to the studio and scratch on a record. It was then that he realized that he didn't just want to play records, he wanted to make them. He developed Madd Ruff Productions in April of 1990 and has been a studio recording master ever since, providing expert music production, songwriting, recording, mixing and album engineering services. His is a professional music producer in Chicago that is ready to take the world by strom.

Don Medina grew up in the Southside of Chicago where he continued to develop his understanding of the high end recording equipment. Soon studio recording professionals began to notice that he had a good ear and were also astonished how quickly Don learned to operate the everything in the studio. This was way back in 1985 during his sophomore year in high school. Midi was just fresh on the scene and he introduced it to the guys at the studio. The studio executives had no need for Midi because they were accomplished musicians, who had worked with the Earth, Wind & Fire, The Staple Singers, Ohio Players, Minnie Riperton among others. Yet Don Medina pushed himself further and began to teach himself sampling, midi sequencing, digital editing, drum programming, and later with the assistance of a mentor learned how to play the keyboards. All of his efforts are paying off. Don Medina has become a hired gun to the music industry elite in regards to all aspect of music production. He has worked with the likes of Young Jeezy, R. Kelly, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal Jr., trained Producer Don P of Trillvile, Cherish, The Legendary Grand Master Caz, Busy Bee, Chuck D., Slick Pulla, Gansta Boo, Akon, LeToya, Ann Nesby, Twista, Jimmy Ruffin and a host of other artists. Don Medina is an accomplished music producer who has worked for Sony/BMG, Jive Records, Def Jam Records, BME Records, Capitol Records, Bad Boy Records and others as a freelance music producer and recording engineer.

Don is extremely sought after by some of the hottest talent in the music industry for his incredible ear and attention to detail when it comes to recording an album or record. Don and his partner Charles Taylor created Studio 660, a professional recording studio conveniently located in downtown Chicago’s Fulton River East District. Studio 660 has two music production studios, an eclectic lounge/reception area, bistro style kitchen, a HD 5.1 surround sound lounge, a live tracking room and three ISO booths.
